Texts & Software

• Interactive Computer Graphics: A Top-down Approach using OpenGL , 6th Edition by Edward Angel, Pearson 2011.
  
  In addition, you will need a good OpenGL reference. Here are some recommendations:
  
  
• OpenGL: A Primer, 3rd Edition by Edward Angel, Addison Wesley 2007.
• OpenGL Programming Guide (the red book), 8th Edition by Shreiner, etc, Addison Wesley 2013.
  
  
• Software: We will be using the C/C++ programming language and the openGL libraries for all laboratory exercises. The labs will be conducted on the Computer Science Mac cluster in Room 232. The code you will be writing will also compile and execute on our Linux clusters and the Linux server can be accessed via a terminal session from any networked computer on campus via a SSH client, however, remote displaying of graphics is difficult and should not be relied upon.

Grading

All graded work will receive a score out of 100%. Guidelines of letter grades corresponding to lab/exam score levels will be given during the semester. At the end of the semester, a total score (to which the corresponding final grade is assigned) will be calculated from a weighted average of all scores according to the following weights:

Midterm: 30%
Homeworks and Projects: 70%
Total: 100%

There is one take-home midterm and no final in this course.

Late submissions will be penalized 10% every day up until 5 days pass the due date, after which it will not be accepted. Resubmissions of homework projects are accepted any time, unless solutions have been handed out. Grade improvement on resubmitted homeworks will not exceed a 3.0 equivalent. Extensions are not granted without prior notification of extaordinary circumstances.
